Accountable for the Procurement / Supply Chain activities for the IVOAPL. Specific responsibilities include:
Job Summary:
The Direct and Indirect Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of procurement within both direct and indirect spend categories. This role focuses on ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services, while maintaining high levels of supplier performance and compliance with organizational standards. The manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, finance, logistics and inter regional procurement team, to develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company’s goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct Procurement:
Strategic Sourcing: Lead strategic sourcing activities for direct materials, including raw materials, components, and production supplies.
Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure product quality, pricing, and delivery standards are met.
Contract Negotiation: Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers to reduce costs, mitigate risks, and improve performance.
Inventory Management: Collaborate with supply chain teams to maintain optimal inventory levels, avoiding production delays or excess stock.
Cost Management: Monitor and analyze direct procurement spending, identifying opportunities for cost reductions or process improvements.
Indirect Procurement:
Category Management: Manage procurement activities for indirect spend categories such as office supplies, IT services, professional services, and facilities management.
Supplier Evaluation: Develop and implement supplier selection processes, including evaluating performance, risk assessment, and ongoing supplier relationship management.
Budget Control: Work with internal stakeholders to manage budgets and ensure that all indirect procurement activities align with company financial goals.
Process Improvement: Identify areas for process optimization within indirect procurement to drive efficiency and cost savings.
General Responsibilities:
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments (e.g., Finance, Legal, Operations) to understand business requirements and align procurement strategies with organizational needs.
Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure that all procurement activities comply with legal, regulatory, and company standards, including ethical sourcing and sustainability practices.
Market Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and best practices in procurement to make informed decisions.
Reporting and Documentation: Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, savings, supplier performance, and budget adherence for senior management.
Full-time position with occasional travel required.
Fast-paced work environment, requiring proactive problem-solving and independent decision-making.
EHS responsibilities:
To follow site EHS procedure and best practices
Read and understand relevant procedure and perform the work safely
Support site EHS in safety campaign, Safety observations to prevent the injuries
Follow the site PSM procedure and implement the PSM culture
Required Knowledge/Skills:
Strong knowledge of procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Ariba).
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (data analysis, budgeting, and reporting).
Familiarity with e-sourcing tools and e-auctions is a plus.
Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Attention to detail and ability to handle complex contracts and supplier relationships.
Strong leadership capabilities, with the ability to mentor and develop a team.
Required Experience: Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in procurement and minimum 7-8 years in Chemical company, with a focus on both direct and indirect procurement categories.
Experience in contract negotiation, supplier management, and strategic sourcing is highly preferred.
Proven track record of cost savings and process improvements in a procurement environment.
Required Education: Bachelor’s/ master’s degree in science (Chemistry would be preferred) / Engineering.
