C12 – AVP Capital and RWA Oversight

The Capital and Risk-Weighted Assets (RWA) Actuals Review Team (“CRRT”) is a function established within the second line of defense Finance Chief Risk Office (CRO) organization, whose mandate is to provide independent testing and monitoring of the end-to-end spot capital and leverage ratio calculation and reporting production process, GSIB score calculation and reporting and Independent Verification of Advanced Systems under U.S. Basel rules for Citigroup, Inc. and Citibank, N.A.

CRRT is a global team with dedicated teams in New York, Texas and Mumbai, India. The team members in each location work together across different review areas through the course of the year.

The AVP- Capital and RWA Oversight will support comprehensive second line of defense oversight of capital and RWA actuals production process consistent with Citi’s ongoing transformation efforts and other strategic priorities.

This is a role that will provide exposure to senior management within CRRT

Reporting Structure and Responsibilities

The AVP Capital and RWA Oversight will be responsible for:

  • Performing reviews within the Capital and RWA Actuals Review Team

  • Ensuring the accuracy and reliability of reported Capital and RWA actuals, and the adequacy of compensating measures

  • Communicating proactively testing progress and exceptions with Capital and RWA Actuals Review Team management

  • Supporting the implementation of changes necessary to enhance the second line of defense oversight of Citi’s RWA production process in connection with Citi’s ongoing transformation efforts and to satisfy evolving regulatory developments, including Basel IV initiatives

  • Developing a strong working relationship with Capital Controllers Group process owners, including the Quality Assurance team and other key stakeholders across the end-to-end capital and RWA production processes

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills, including well-developed verbal, written and presentation skills.

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to review and comprehend large sets of data

  • Strong attention to detail with proven ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms

  • Previous experience in Basel Regulatory Capital Controllers, Regulatory Capital Reporting (e.g., FFIEC 101, FR Y-9C etc.) or Basel Regulator Capital Audit functions is preferred

  • Understanding of Basel RWA regulations is a must Good to have understanding of market risk and upcoming changes in Basel 3

  • Minimum 5 - 10 years of proven experience in the financial services industry or experience in a comparable role

  • Strong audit instincts and ability to apply independent judgment to business practices, with a proven ability and willingness to challenge the status quo

  • A self-starter with ability to independently manage work and drive multiple deliverables concurrently

  • An undergraduate degree is required

  • MBA, CA or CFA is preferred
