Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Research Scientist, in Next Generation Systems team in IBM Research Europe - Ireland you will play a key role in accelerating discovery with a focus on applying AI to creating the next generation of systems for generative AI and science.
Responsibilities:
Conduct R&D into the application of AI to future systems design, exploring ways to increase efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and lower costs.
Investigate AI model characterization and optimization, working with a range of GenAI model types, including language, geospatial, and multi-modal science models.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement new system and system software innovations that accelerate discovery in AI.
Apply strong data-science skills to analyze and interpret complex data sets, and develop predictive models and algorithms to drive insights.
Leverage deep knowledge of GenAI model architectures to design and optimize AI models architecture for future systems.
Utilize knowledge of the data-science and GenAI software stack and frameworks to address modeling problems and develop innovative solutions.
Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and system design, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation in future systems.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
MSc in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related area
Previous AI/ML experience is a must
Previous scientific publications are preferred
