The Event Manager II is the primary client point of contact for assigned meetings and events onsite at the client’s campus. Manages meetings and events through the implementation of strategy, delivery of objectives and execution of logistics, while effectively working with clients. Responsible for coordination of all program planning, while providing unparalleled levels of customer service on all events. Works closely with clients to understand and meet program objectives/outcomes.

Scope

Acts a primary point of contact to event host . Plans and designs events of varied complexity. Demonstrates consultative approach to overall event management. Maintains and updates project timelines and event workbook. Responsible for communicating and executing all logistical requirements and needs of assigned meetings/event. Leads regularly scheduled status meetings with client and service partners throughout planning stage .  Manages external relationships with internal service partner departments which include but is not limited to Catering, Facilities, Technology and AV, Executive Production, Security, Transportation Janitoria l, as well as third party suppliers, if applicable.

Primary Responsibilities

Serves as primary point-of-contact for event hosts. Provides consultative planning to clients and service partners responsible for event set-up and execution.  Works closely with service partners to deliver comprehensive meeting services including but not limited to Catering, Facilities, Technology and AV, Executive Production, Security, Transportation and Janitoria l . Outlines deliverables for assigned event. Completes overall project timelin e, event workbook and communication plan .   F acilitates prompt and accurate handling of all details. Coordinates and attends site inspections. Independently interface with client contact.  

Maintai n s proactive, positive, open line of communication with client to ensure understanding o f ex pectations. Conducts regularly scheduled status meetings with client and service partners throughout planning stage .  Responsible for tracking communication and reporting changes in event management system .

Works closely with the Onsite Event Specialist, providing clear direction about the clients' expectations and thorough review of the event logistics , to ensure the program objectives are executed and exceeded . Schedules and leads pre-con meeting for all events. Periodically checks event spaces and setups to ensure event services are appropriately delivered .

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required . 

  2. Minimum 3+ years of experience in meeting/event planning (including incentives, association, corporation) or hotel catering, convention, sales experience required . 

  3. CMP designation a plus.

  4. Strong knowledge of program/event management and budget maintenance. Exposure to project planning/forecasting financial implications. 

  5. Prior successful experience in developing and maintaining key client relationships. 

  6. Ability to thrive in an agile, continuously changing environment. Prior experience in effectively handling multiple projects/demands.

  7. Professional oral presentation and writing skills required . 

  8. Excellent computer skills, knowledge of G Suite products, Microsoft Office tools & ability to learn new technology quickly.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000 per year
