We are looking for research scientist interns on our Applied Research team.

Applied Research - The Applied Research team at Center for Advanced AI building state-of-the-art Generative AI models, such as large language models (LLMs), multimodal and diffusion models. Our team’s models are finetuned for business use cases across Accenture’s clients and industry verticals. We strive towards external research impact including the research community and internal business impact across Accenture.

  • Research Interns work on challenging problems in Generative Artificial intelligence (GenAI) across language, vision, speech and a combination of these modalities. You will also contribute to the wider research community by publishing papers.

  • You have a deep understanding, and ability to remain at the forefront, of generative AI research including models and/or infrastructure.

  • You will train and/or fine-tune generative AI models and evaluate the specific problems.

  • You will work with full-time Advanced Research Scientists on novel research ideas/proposals who will also provide mentorship for your internship success and beyond .

    What you will do

  • Conduct high impact research in the Generative AI space. Propose hypothesis and run experiments in Gen AI space including developing models from scratch or improving foundation models OR research/run evaluations in the space of high throughput, low latency machine learning infrastructure used for training and deploying GenAI models.

  • You will work towards publications in high-impact research venues such as NeuRIPS, ICLM, ICLR

  • Collaborate seamlessly with team members, including offshore in North American time zone.

  • Participate in team meetings, reading groups, lead discussions on papers and technical reports on GenAI models published from the academic and industry research communities.

  • Collaborate with academic partners to stay on the cutting edge of AI, specifically Gen AI technologies and keep abreast on AI trends, AI use case innovation trends, or foreseeable limitations, risks, and concerns.

    Basic Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an MS or a PhD program in the field of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics or a related field, with a focus on Generative AI and Foundation models .

  • One year of experience in deep learning and neural networks, specifically, in training foundation models such as large language models, diffusion models OR developing scalable infras tructure to train and deploy foundation models on GPU clusters.

  • Programming skills in Python or C++.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence , relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience .

    Preferred Qualifications

  • At least two plus years of experience as a researcher, including internships, full-time jobs, or in academic labs, in deep learning and neural networks, particularly training foundation models such as large language models on GPUs.

  • Ability to formulate a research problem, design, experiment, implement and communicate solutions.

  • Ability to work in a diverse collaborative environment.

  • Strong Programming skills in Python, C++ with at least two years of experience.

  • Experience using machine learning frameworks such as PyT orch, TensorFlow, JAX or related frameworks.

  • Working knowledge of computer architecture, and familiarity with the fundamentals of GPU architectures.

  • Ability to design and execute research agendas.

  • Strong mathematical skills in linear algebra and statistics.

  • First-authored publications at leading conferences such as NeurIPS , ICML, ICLR, ACL, CVPR, ICASSP or similar.

Participation in this internship program requires that you are physically located in the United States for the duration of the internship.

Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California, Colorado, New York or Washington as set forth below. California $63,200 to $188,600
