PACCAR Inc. Engine Verification Engineer in Mount Vernon, Washington

Requisition Summary The PACCAR Global Engine team is looking for a driven Engine Verification Engineer to lead vehicle fleet testing and support current product with a specific focus on heavy-duty diesel engine performance of the North American PACCAR engine families. The selected individual will work closely with the global cross-functional team and be responsible for delivering the best performing emissions and OBD compliant engine calibrations for North America. Get started! Job Functions / Responsibilities Lead testing of internal development test fleets to determine vehicle level durability and reliability of PACCAR engines. Work in a cross-functional group and maintain the engine bill of materials for internal development vehicles Collaborate with engineers to coordinate and plan vehicle level engine testing Work in a cross functional global team to troubleshoot and determine root cause for defects found during development projects Review data from vehicle testing and ensure quality results are achieved Provide technical feedback on proposed calibration and hardware changes Ensure proper communication and documentation of work conducted including updating processes and writing reports Provide support to the running business and validation groups in troubleshooting defects observed on customer vehicles. Qualifications 5-8 years of relevant work experience in the automotive industry. Knowledge of in-vehicle calibration and data acquisition systems, calibration tools, and engine control systems Sound knowledge of OBD and regulatory requirements preferred. Ability to summarize technical issues and communicate effectively multi-cultural environment. Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
