Job Summary

The Lead Preschool Teacher creates a safe and nurturing environment while incorporating fun and creative lesson plans to support the learning and development of our children. The Preschool Teacher will be responsible for all aspects of classroom management including, but not limited to, the education, social and emotional development, lesson planning and the screening/assessment of each child. 

Job Responsibilities

Develop daily lesson plans using Teaching Strategies that are individualized for each child and incorporate school readiness goals and social and emotional development.

Develop and maintain positive relationships with children and parents that are supportive of their needs.

Create activities that are fun and engaging for children.

Utilize assessment tools to monitor and track the progress of each child.

Manage all day-to-day aspects of the classroom, including meals, gross and fine motor skills, and outdoor play time.

Establish a positive working relationship with the classroom Assistant and other support staff that ensure quality services are provided to children and families.

Comply with all applicable regulations including Absolute Love Learning Center, ODJFS Licensing, and Step Up to Quality.

Continuously monitor children to ensure safety at all times, and report child abuse and neglect when necessary.

Qualifications:

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Must maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times.

Must be able to relate to individuals of all ethnic and social-economic backgrounds.

Ability to work independently.

Responsible for personally maintaining current certifications and/or licensures.

Must be able to meet required qualifications such as BCI/FBI background check (including sex offender registry and SACWIS check), ODJFS medical statement and screening for tuberculosis when necessary.
