Westchester Community Health Center Certified Application Counselor in Mount Vernon, New York

Certified Application Counselor/Facilitated Enroller aids individuals and families in need of Healthcare Insurance. The Certified Application Counselor must be able to educate the consumer on selecting the best Healthcare Insurance available through the New York State of Health Marketplace.

Essential Duties:

Ensure that all clients and patients are screened for insurance eligibility. Promote and explain the Affordable Care Act. Engage with the community and collaborate with all community-based agencies. Conduct outreach in the community and attend health fair events. Must have the ability to explain the process for enrolling in Medicaid, Essential Plans, Child Health Plus, and Qualified Health Plans. Demonstrate compassion and be sensitive to working with low-income and ethnic minority community members. Qualifications:

New York State of Health Application Counselor Certification. NYS valid drivers license. Experience with customer service. Computer literacy is required.
