Description:

Packaging Technician I

  • Working in the warehouse to inspect and package packages

  • Creating labels

  • Following SOP's

  • Utilizing a computer

-Comfortable working in cold storage at times (freezer environment bc of of their pharma drugs need to be in this environment)

  • Performs final inspection of work in-process and finished products and then packs these goods into appropriately labeled containers

  • Performs scanning of labeled bottles/cartons/cards, etc. utilizing “PASS” system, when applicable. Completes necessary documentation and prints “PASS” reports

  • Assists Quality Assurance personnel and Production Supervisor/Group Leader in staging, scanning and reconciliation of components as required

  • Assists in Labeling Department, on an as needed basis, with the inspection of labels, if approved to do so

  • Checks components for accuracy relative to description, Lot#, quantity, etc. prior to QA issuance to packaging line

  • Participates in and completes all required training sessions for SOP’s, quality, and safety

-Verifies proper storage conditions and temperature monitoring of shipments

-Loads couriers trucks using pallet jacks

-Identifies opportunities to improve overall quality and efficiency

-Engaged in Daily management and 5S on a daily basis

-Ensures that inventory is properly and safely stored

-Maintains warehouse for safety, security, neatness and organization

• Performs basic manual or automated equipment assembly

• Uses stationary and/or hand-held machinery in multiple operations

• Accurately counts and prepares packaging components to ensure proper accountabilities prior to and at the completion of a job order

• Performs primary manual or automated filling and packaging of blistered and bottled pharmaceutical products

• Performs and ensures proper card and drug placement using various secondary card sealing machinery

• Monitors equipments for appropriate functioning during packaging runs and informing a Packaging Technician II or greater of any malfunction.

• Labels, assembles and packages pharmaceutical products.

• Ensures adherence to specifications and the highest quality standards.

• Accepts or rejects in-process clinical supplies and drug products according to acceptability standards determined by Good Manufacturing Principles, customer requirements, and Standard Operating Procedures.

• Works with other departments to perform necessary tasks.

• Performs tasks that may be verified by an independent individual, or may perform inspection/verifications of work performed by others.

• Must be able to work in both primary and secondary rooms.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: • High school diploma, or GED, combined with the ability to read, write and complete basic mathematics calculations. •
