Location/Division Specific Information

The Clinical Trails Division (CTD) partners with pharmaceutical and biotech customers around the world to ensure patients get the right therapies in the right doses at the right time - a concept that we internally embrace as "There is a Patient Waiting.' CTD is a critical part of the 17,000 employees and 55 sites that make up the Pharma Services Group (PSG) providing industry leading end-to-end capabilities and solutions to support the drug development journey.

How will you make an impact?

As the Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor you will direct a team of technicians, run internal programs and support projects for an 88,000 square foot GMP clinical packaging and distribution facility. Working cross-functionally and cross-site with other specialists, your contributions will be essential both to the site's day to day operations and strategic success!

What will you do?

  • Be a champion for safety. Support and adhere to all safety procedures, requirements, and initiatives. Work with senior leadership, EHS and all site employees to constantly better our safety standards.

  • Communicate and work across departments as the go-to lead for facilities and maintenance, including audit representation, subject matter expertise, and resolving/troubleshooting facilities and equipment issues.

  • Own, lead, and continuously improve all facility support programs, including but not limited to preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, contractor management, service management, pest control, calibration, security, and facility cleaning.

  • Develop, update, and own documentation, such as standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, preventative maintenance plans, and quality records to ensure compliance with our Quality Management System.

  • Own, support, and ensure constant function of facilities/maintenance computerized systems including building automation, computerized maintenance management, and security access.

  • Respond to and resolve critical system failures, including off-hours coverage, as needed.

  • Drive facility and equipment projects including RFP, financial justification, and leading the project through implementation. Support the Engineering Team on capital projects, as needed.

  • Handle expense transactions for service and equipment including issuing requisitions, completing receipts, and working with accounts payable to ensure invoices are matched and paid.

  • Support, direct, and develop staff including prioritizing day to day operations, training, delegation, routine meetings, setting goals, and performance evaluations.

  • Support our continuous improvement program by participating in teams, submitting and executing improvement ideas, and being a proponent for continuous improvement in your own work and through your team.

How will you get here?


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Technical degree/certification or equivalent experience.

  • Bachelor's degree (in technical field such as engineering) preferred.


  • 5+ years experience in facilities and/or maintenance or a technical degree/certification (engineering, HVAC, electrical, refrigeration, calibration, etc).

  • 3+ years experience in a GMP facility and operation.

  • 3+ years experience supervising and leading a team.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Knowledge of GMP regulations, Quality Management Systems, and workplace safety standards.

  • Knowledge of facility support programs such as calibration, security, pest control, cleaning, fire safety, building automation, preventative maintenance, waste removal, emergency power, landscaping, and visitor control.

  • Solid understanding of electro-mechanical equipment maintenance and repair.

  • Track record of successfully leading and developing team members.

  • Experience writing and constructing technical documentation.

  • Financial acuity, with the ability to develop a business case and rationalize an investment.

  • Effective communicator (verbal, written, presentation) with ability to work across multiple departments and functions and develop strong organizational and client relationships.

  • Computer proficiency with the ability to learn and master technical software. Skilled in the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to diagnose an issue and identify and implement long-term solutions. Driven by an attitude for continuous improvement with desire to question the status quo and strive for a better way.
