Description

The role of the Esports Program Coordinator involves managing the academic program and recreational daily requirements. The main responsibility is coordinating curriculum planning and development, student recruitment and enrollment, student advising and support, adjunct coordination, recreational program promotion and outreach, evaluation and improvement, and record keeping.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Curriculum Development:

  • Collaborate with faculty and professionals to create an industry advisory board for improvement and incorporate new Esports methodologies and technologies into the curriculum.

Student Advising and Support:

  • Provide academic advising to Esports program students, helping them choose courses and track their progress toward graduation.

  • Offer guidance and support to students facing academic challenges or personal issues that may affect their performance.

Recruitment and Enrollment:

  • Collaborate with EMSS staff to implement strategies to attract prospective students to the Esports academic program.

  • Collaborate with the EMSS staff on recruitment events, fairs, and community events to promote the program and answer inquiries from potential students.

Program Promotion and Public Relations:

  • Create marketing materials, such as brochures and online content, to showcase the benefits and opportunities the Esports offerings

  • Work with the college's marketing department to increase the program's visibility and engagement on social media and other platforms.

Faculty Coordination:

  • Coordinate with the STEM Adjunct Coordinator to ensure course schedules and adjunct recruitment and retention for the program

  • Organize regular adjunct meetings to discuss program improvements, student performance, and emerging challenges.

Recreational Program management (in collaboration with Student Life):

  • Create a recreation/league marketing plan that includes class descriptions, website content, communication strategies/channels, and the development and distribution of collateral materials.

  • Perform all necessary administrative responsibilities, including but not limited to phone calls, emails, recruitment of new participants, and other program-related duties.

  • Manage inventory of recreational and sports league equipment, ensuring that the equipment is sufficient for program needs and in good working condition.

  • Plan recreation programs and special events.

  • Research and assist in formulating safety policies and procedures in the Esports labs

OVERALL PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY:

The primary and most important overall responsibility of all employees is to provide service in a pleasant, helpful, and effective manner to our students and other members of the College community.

Minimum Qualifications

Education Required:

Associate’s degree in sport/recreation management, education, or related field.

Experience Required:

  • One (1) to two (2) years of directly related applicable experience

  • 2 years working with youth is the preferred minimum.

Skills/Abilities /Knowledge /Other Requirements:

  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, academic performance, and other relevant data.

  • Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling classes, managing course registrations, and processing student paperwork.

  • Able to receive and delegate tasks to recreation groups and volunteer help.

  • Ability to prepare written reports.

  • Able to organize and prioritize workload.

  • Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.

  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with participants and coworkers.

  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of planning, organizing, promoting, and evaluating recreation programs.

Additional Information

INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS:

Collaborates with department members and/or the Compliance, Assessment and Research team to support planning, assessment, data collection and reporting for continuous improvement of the college.

Employee Classification: Part Time
