Genie Chief Technology Officer in Mount Hope, Ohio

The Position: This position reports to The Genie Company President and will act as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for a high volume, consumer products division. The CTO will serve as a key member of Genie's Executive Leadership Team as a trusted strategist and technology manager and will have direct leadership over our Engineering and Operations teams resulting in the delivery of low cost, high-quality, innovative products. The CTO will drive all executive decisions with regards to the technological interests of The Genie Company and be responsible for outlining the company's technological vision, implementing corporate and technology strategies, and ensuring that the engineering and technological resources are aligned with the company's business needs.Skills/Experience Requirements

  • 10 to 15 years' previous engineering management experience (manufacturing environment experience a plus).
  • Strong background with electronics, IoT, connected, and cloud infrastructure & development.
  • Must have a proven track record of transforming strategy into an actionable plan that delivers measurable business results.
  • Strong personal presence, self-confidence, and infectious sense of urgency.
  • Knowledge and practical experience in management information systems, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, budget control, sales & marketing, and legal issues related to product liability and intellectual property.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and communicate with people all at levels of the organization.
  • Extremely comfortable in marketing the technology of our products through customer interaction and engagement.
  • Ability to inspire and develop team members; creating a great work environment where the best come to work and stay.

Education Requirements

  • BSEE preferred. MBA is highly desirable.
  • Six-Sigma black belt certification and experience with lean manufacturing processes, preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Working with the leadership team, the CTO will define and implement the technology strategies across our award-winning products to ensure that the teams, technology, and systems are able to meet and exceed customer expectations.

Lead NPD, Sustaining, and IoT / Cloud / Connected engineering teams in developing the product roadmap, ultimately producing innovative consumer electromechanical products that will drive market growth, cost reductions and / or quality improvements.
