The CCTS team oversees audiovisual solutions in Registrar-scheduled classrooms and collaboration spaces within the university. Through the development of relationships inside and outside of the university, analyzing technology needs, and ongoing research and testing of AV equipment, the CCTS team delivers both solutions and training that support academic and administrative professionals in delivering information in offices, conference rooms, classrooms, and specialty spaces.

rrPosition Overview:

This position is part of a team responsible for maintaining classroom audiovisual technologies by performing maintenance, troubleshooting and administration. It provides customer service/support for users of classroom technology. The position tests, implements and provides input on classroom technology solutions in coordination with university partners and external vendors.

Level I positions provide technical support for audiovisual (AV) equipment associated with videoconferencing, presentation and classroom instruction. They provide training and technical assistance to customers, administrative support of videoconferencing solutions, and installation and maintenance of classroom AV technologies.

Duties may include:

  • Provide training on classroom AV use.
  • Provide video conferencing administration and user support.
  • Provide second-line support for classroom systems.
  • Maintain classroom AV equipment, diagnose problems (troubleshooting), implement solutions and verify proper functioning of classroom systems.
  • Support coordination with external vendors and collaboration with other Office of Information Technology (OIT) teams to provide AV solutions that meet security, reliability and performance standards.
  • Read and understand line drawings, schematics, plans, instructions; create entry-level one-line drawings.
  • Research, configure and physically install AV equipment and components; verify installation meets standards.
  • Participate in installation, testing, design and development phases of projects.
  • Provide input for updating installation documentation.
  • Test mock-ups to support development.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Level II positions install and test classroom audiovisual (AV) equipment and provide technical support associated with videoconferencing, presentation and classroom instruction. They provide training and technical assistance to customers, administrative support of videoconferencing solutions and support for design and development of AV solutions.

Duties may include:

  • Manage installation and testing phase of projects.
  • Read and understand line drawings, schematics, plans and instructions.
  • Research, configure and physically install AV equipment; verify installation meets standards.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with university teams and external vendors to provide AV solutions that meet security, reliability and performance standards.
  • Support video conferencing administration and user support
  • Provide training on classroom AV systems.
  • Provide second-line support for classroom systems.
  • Diagnose problems (troubleshoot AV systems) and implement solutions.
  • Create one-line and spatial design drawings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Classroom IT Analyst I

  • One yea r installing AV technologies
  • One year troubleshooting AV technologies
  • One year providing customer support
  • Using computer software and applications for word processing, email, internet searches, and data organization
  • Experience with business productivity applications and customer management software
  • Experience with network configuration

Classroom IT Analyst II

  • Three years installing AV technologies
  • Three years troubleshooting AV technologies
  • One year designing and developing AV control systems
  • Using computer software and applications for word processing, email, internet searches, and data organization
  • Experience with business productivity applications and customer management software
  • Experience with network configuration
