Description and Requirements

The Group Risk Management and Control (“GRMC”) team is a global function in Lenovo, whose mission is to create and sustain a risk governance and culture that embeds risk awareness and good risk management practices throughout the organization. This allows informed decisions to be made, bearing in mind the organization’s risk appetite, anticipating risk scenarios that may be encountered in execution, and ensuring that resources are set aside to manage and control such risks. This supports Lenovo’s business resiliency and sustainable growth in a fast-changing environment, thereby ensuring that Lenovo’s strategic goals and corporate governance responsibilities may be met in accordance with Lenovo’s Mission Statement.

As a Senior Manager, Group Risk Management and Control , you will be ensuring that the risk management programs entrusted to you run smoothly, and that you contribute to the development of risk-oriented culture within the organization through regular interlocks with the relevant stakeholders. One of the programs that you will be primarily responsible for is the shaping and execution of our global Business Continuity Program, where your expertise will drive the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of robust continuity plans, crisis response protocols, and risk mitigation strategies.

This is a world-wide role and is designed for an individual who can work independently and also in a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting annual exercise to revalidate and assess key risks.

  • Collaboration with risk owners to develop and review adequacy of control systems, and the progress of mitigation efforts or contingency plans to limit or mitigate risks.

  • Promotion of risk management awareness and development of risk-oriented culture through the initiation and management of risk projects, and training and sharing sessions.

  • Development and maintenance of Lenovo’s group-wide Business Continuity Program (“BCP”), aligning continuity efforts with overall business goals. This includes shaping policies and ongoing development and implementation of group standards and guidelines, and oversight on the compliance and governance.

Technical Capabilities:

  • Strong prioritization, project management and organizing skills, attention to details, commitment to deadlines.

  • Be exceptionally skilled at identifying, prioritizing, and articulating risks of process controls, applying effective methods of testing and data analysis.

  • Plan, develop and scope process control/advisory projects, execute project plans and facilitate business responses and action items.

  • Deep knowledge of business continuity management:

  • Ensure that Group-wide business continuity policies, guideline and standards are aligned with industry standards, regulatory requirements and best practice.

  • Strong organizational skill to develop and execute structured plans with Business Continuity Coordinators, to create, implement, test, and maintain business continuity and crisis response.

  • Good business acumen to identify critical processes we should focus BCP creation on, to gain business resilience in a phased approach.

  • Sharp analytical mind to conduct risk assessments and business impact analyses to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.

  • Savvy with the set up and management of system tools to facilitate BCP planning, collaboration, testing, emergency responses, and ensure operational readiness of recovery resources.

Communication & Collaboration:

  • Regularly deals with managers/senior managers/executives at the site/country level and communicates confidently across cultures in a clear, concise and articulate manner with strong interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrate tact and diplomacy when handling sensitive issues.

  • Ability to facilitate collaboration across departments and influence decision-making.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Business, Risk Management, or related field from a recognized university.

  • CPA, CIA, certification in Risk Management and/or Business Continuity.

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in risk management and business continuity.

  • Familiarity with business continuity software and tools.

  • Global experience required

  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Teams), SharePoint, Microsoft Outlook.

  • Must be open to 30% travel.
