Insight Global Purchasing Agent in Morganton, North Carolina

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Purchasing Agent for one of our manufacturing clients based in Morganton, NC. This role will be onsite five days per week and the hours will be 8:00am-5:00pm EST.

The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for sourcing and procuring materials, equipment, and services necessary for the manufacturing process and the business as a whole. This role involves negotiating with suppliers, managing inventory levels, and ensuring timely delivery of goods to support production schedules. You will be working with both internal and external customers providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

Source and Evaluate Suppliers: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish relationships to ensure the best quality and pricing.

Procurement: Purchase materials, equipment, and services required for manufacturing operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production teams/business leaders to maintain optimal stock levels and avoid disruptions.

Order Processing: Prepare and process purchase orders, track deliveries, and resolve any issues related to orders.

Supplier Performance: Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information.

Collaboration: Work closely with production, engineering, and finance teams to ensure alignment of procurement activities with company goals.

Skills and Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience purchasing in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience with ERP software

  • Experience with Microsoft Suite

  • Strong communication skills, comfortable with negotiating prices

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills - Experience purchasing steel

  • Experience with JobBoss

  • Associate or bachelors degree preferred null
