Chapter Next is a 12-16 week paid returnship hosted by RMS. Candidates who have taken a professional
career hiatus for at least 1+ years will be eligible to apply to this program.
During this returnship participants will become part of a community of similarly experienced
professionals with challenging work scopes that contribute to the great innovation produced by
Lockheed Martin! Selected candidates will be exposed to comprehensive training, professional
development opportunities, networking opportunities, and individual based mentoring
Our goal is to provide the fundamental tools needed to be successful in your career field, and to
potentially prepare you for an opportunity to join Lockheed Martin full-time. Fields of focus will be
diverse across the program and include functional and technical opportunities.
This returnship position is Senior Computing Infrastructure Engineer and will be located in Moorestown, NJ.
THE WORK
In your role as Senior Computing Infrastructure Engineer, you will:
- Engage in the engineering of secure and scalable virtualized edge computing solutions.
- Participate in and lead engineering activities including product selection, design, development, deployment, integration, and test of infrastructure platforms.
- Apply automation tools and technologies to streamline system deployment.
- Support the interface and integration with different systems, software, and sensors.
- Support customer and corporate events and exercises to test future capabilities.
- Interface with program and team leadership to prioritize tasking, provide status, and develop solutions to resolve any issues encountered.

You have a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of professional engineering experience. You are interested in a career where you will solve problems and develop solutions on a daily basis. You enjoy a good challenge and excel in an environment where you can collaborate with other motivated engineers.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, System Engineering, or related discipline.
- At least five years of professional experience.
- Minimum of five years experience working with a Linux Operating System (preferably RedHat).
- Minimum of two years experience with virtualization platforms such as VMWare or KVM.
- Minimum of two years experience working in a systems/software engineering environment, using agile tools, automation, and applying best practices.
- Must be willing to work onsite, traveling between multiple sites within the campus (5 mile radius) as well as be willing to travel domestically or internationally as needed.
-Must be a US Citizen.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
Desired Skills:
- Masters degree or advanced technical certification(s).
- Experience with Network devices and their configuration.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Ansible, and bash.
- Experience with software containerization.
- Experience with system hardening and cybersecurity best practices.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, especially the ability to articulate advanced technical topics to both technical and non-technical staff.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent).
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
