Summary About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Moody Outdoor Recreation (Swimming Pool). Guaranteed 0 hours, but may work up to 40 hours per week. Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Responsibilities Continuously observes the swimming pool area to ensure safety of patrons. Follows schedule for opening and closing times for allowed patrons. Promptly rescues swimmers, administers first aid and and calls for medical assistance if and when needed. Warns swimmers of unsafe environmental, or hazardous conditions. May operate water pumps, use controlled chemical additives, inspect diving boards, loose matting and make sure necessary repairs are made. May clean main pools, wading pools, sunbathing areas, etc. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifying Experience: Must have an approved and current nationally recognized certification in lifesaving and water rescue methods and skills, as well as basic first aid, and CPR (both child and adult) training. Must have experience which provides a practical knowledge of swimming activities, rules and procedures and skills in the use and maintenance of various pool and safety equipment is desirable. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. Additional Information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation or a signed memorandum indicating the installation's decision on the 3-year residency requirement..
