Within CAE Defense & Security International, the Project Controller is responsible for executing specific project related activities during the project's life cycle such as: project financial and schedule analysis, reporting, closure, and various customer related activities. The incumbent will report to the Group Leader, Planning & Control.
In this role, the Project Controller will be expected to:
Assist project managers with activity and resource planning and other aspects of project management (risk, time, cost, quality and content management, etc.).
Appl y organizational project management practices and policies, processes, and procedures in managing projects. Shares best practices with colleagues.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Manage project management processes and systems:
Actively participate in the project authorization process alongside the Planner to understand the financial structure of the project/program
Track and maintain invoicing and payment schedules.
Perform monthly financial analysis and support project review cycles.
Identify discrepancies and evaluate impacts.
Process change requests and scenario based analysis.
Implement changes to project finances – manage data and systems.
Administer cost lines.
Support risk tracking system
Execute project governance:
Evaluate cost/schedule/performance key performance Indicators (Including EVM).
Analyze discrepancies between the estimated, actual time and cost spent on a given project.
Produce Project / Program Review documentation.
Liaise with PMO analyst group
Ensure proper project documentation and communication:
Open and maintain collaborative environments.
Produce or manage the Client required documentation.
Produce commercial invoices.
Produce Client required documentation.
Our ideal candidate has:
Bachelor's in administration or finance with 2 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination related to project planning and control in a project management environment.
Project Management certification an asset.
Ability to manage one's time and multiple projects with tight deadlines.
Good communication skills (written and spoken).
Program management, MS Project and ERP environment experience an asset.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Meet the requirements of the Canada Controlled Goods Program (CGP), and ITAR requirements.
Flexibility to work with different time zones, when applicable.
Bilingualism is an asset (French and English)
