Job Title: TIG Welder
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced TIG Welder to assist in the fabrication of metal enclosures for various research end uses. The ideal candidate must have experience working with light gauge stainless steel (.048 - .120 thickness) and demonstrate proficiency in TIG welding methods and techniques. Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality are essential, as welds will not be ground or polished after completion.
Responsibilities
Perform TIG welding on cages and racks with precision and accuracy.
Set up and operate welding equipment.
Apply assembly and fabrication practices to complete projects.
Layout structural tubing according to specifications.
Operate safety equipment and maintain safe work habits.
Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
Clamp, hold, tack-weld, and grind component parts to achieve required configurations and positions for welding.
Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisors.
Monitor the fitting and welding processes to prevent overheating, warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.
Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade.
Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to welding using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.
Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
Essential Skills
Proven experience with TIG welding of light gauge stainless steel (.048 - .120 thickness).
Ability to read and interpret routine welding and fabrication drawings.
Proficiency in measurement reading (tape).
Knowledge of blueprint reading, grinders, hand clamps, welding equipment, protective gloves, safety glasses, TIG welding equipment, and welding masks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
Capability to work under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.

Work Environment
The position operates on the 1st shift from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, in a dedicated welding bay.

This is a Permanent position based out of Allentown, New Jersey.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60320.00 - $62400.00/yr.
