Job Description

In this pivotal role, you will be tasked with the comprehensive management of a substantial team, ranging from 60 to 70 employees. Your responsibilities will extend across various operational domains, including overseeing personnel in both call center and field settings. With a high HR mandate, you will navigate employee relations and development while ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Moreover, your agility will be crucial in addressing emergent issues and balancing cross-functional priorities. Notably, these employees operate under a vendor, requiring adept coordination and collaboration to optimize performance and achieve strategic objectives.

The FTM is responsible for managing the Ontario based field based team consisting of District Managers (DM’s), Field Case Managers (FCM’s), Personal Care Specialists (PCS’s) and Nurses (ACN’s) who are employees of a 3rd party but directly managed by the FTM.

Close collaboration is critical for this role, as the Field Team Manager (FTM) will need to work in a complex matrix organization. The FTM will need to collaborate regularly with the rest of the AbbVie Care management team, other FTM’s, as well as the commercial, access & trade teams. The suitable candidate will need to work in collaboration with our partner Innomar to ensure the HR policies and procedures are implemented for the field-based team.

The FTM must ensure the field team activities are in line with the strategic direction for the patient support program and aligned with the shared business objectives for each therapeutic area.

In addition to the requirements above, the FTM will need to:

  • Develop a strong understanding of the patient journeys in each immunology indication and leverage this knowledge to adjust the program offerings to meet the need of patients and HCPs.

  • Identify strategies and implement tactics to minimize the time to reimbursement & work closely with Provincial Affair Managers to ensure alignment with current reimbursement status and procedures.

  • Work with the Dm’s in the region to leverage key performance indicators and the use of the CRM database.

  • Ensure consistent and ongoing communication between the Abbvie Care marketing, brand teams, sales, Trade relations, Vendors and other relevant functional areas and the field team.

  • Optimize resources and cost efficiency of the field team by assessing ongoing resource utilization and workload; improve processes and leverage efficiencies as necessary.

  • Assist in the revisions of SOPs for field team (reporting, templates, KPIs, best practices) in response to changing market conditions.

  • Work in collaboration with Innomar on field team KPIs and performance evaluations.

  • Organize and execute regional district meetings as required in person and virtual.

  • Provide timely customer service to AbbVie sales team and external customers to resolve in-clinic support challenges.

  • Provide strategic input and participate and guide DMs participating in IFT initiatives.

  • Develop content & participate at adboards as required.

Qualifications

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science and/or Business Administration. Master’s degree a plus.

  • Previous Management Experience required

  • Five years in a similar role or strong transferable skills

  • Must be fluent in English; oral and written

  • Strong computer skills; must be proficient with Excel and Powerpoint

  • Working understanding of provincial, federal and private reimbursement

  • Ability to implement strategic and tactical opportunities in a timely fashion and adapt as needed

  • Strong strategic planning and project management skills.

  • Superior interpersonal and presentation skills

  • Results driven, demonstrated analytical skills

  • Ability to work in a matrix environment, strong collaboration skills

Travel:

  • Availability to travel up to 40% of the time as required.

  • Valid driver’s license and passport are required.
