Job Title: CNC Set-up Machinist
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled CNC Set-up Machinist to join our team. This role involves setting up and operating CNC machinery efficiently and safely, ensuring high-quality production. You will need to have a keen understanding of manufacturing drawings, use precision measuring tools, and possess the ability to edit machine programs.
Responsibilities
Follow all applicable environmental, health, and safety rules and procedures, and report any dangerous situations, near-misses, or injuries immediately.
Participate in developing and updating risk assessments, reviewing all applicable risk assessments annually.
Read and understand the drawings/prints required for the assigned job, including size, tolerance, and finish requirements.
Utilize micrometers, calipers, height gauges, depth gauges, and other measuring devices to ensure quality products.
Possess knowledge of basic 'G' & 'M' codes and the ability to read and edit machine programs.
Demonstrate the ability to instruct an operator in the loading, machining process, unloading, deburring, and other necessary functions.
Assist operators with any issues during the machining process, including tool wear adjustments and tool changes.
Use or learn to use a computer for entering production information into a tracking system.
Complete paperwork requirements for each operation, including setup sheets and Serial Number Tracking Sheets.
Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area to ensure a safe and clean work environment.
Strive to improve workstation performance, reduce part-to-part times, increase production efficiency, and improve quality.
Communicate professionally with everyone in the plant and utilize a translator if necessary.
Take directions from immediate supervisors and designated management representatives.
Work overtime as required.
Essential Skills
Advanced CNC machining skills, including work holding, tooling, setup, fixture, tool offsets, and program editing.
Ability to hold close tolerances as required.
Knowledge of quality control measuring tools.
Ability to read and understand manufacturing and assembly drawings.
Good communication skills.
Ability to lift 70 pounds regularly, up to ten times an hour.
Capability to work in a non-air conditioned environment for a minimum of eight hours per day.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with mill and lathe setup.
Proficiency in blueprint reading and precision measuring.
Familiarity with Fanuc, Gd&t, Micrometer, Mastercam, Solidworks, and vertical lathe operations.

Work Environment
The position operates in a non-air conditioned manufacturing plant with working hours from 7:00am to 3:30pm.

This is a Permanent position based out of Trenton, New Jersey.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $62400.00/yr.
