Job Summary

The Expert, Solution and System Integration – Systems, Applications, and Products (SAP) is responsible for assisting in the technology transformation from SAP ECC to SAP S4 HANA, seamlessly connecting Procurement and Supply Management business requirements with user experience. The role involves developing integration strategies for highly complex ecosystems, creating precise interface specifications, and analyzing solutions to ensure smooth data flows across various layers (e.g., hardware, platforms, applications, legacy systems). The incumbent’s leadership and meticulous product documentation will be instrumental in driving successful product development.

Main Responsibilities

Strategic Integration Leadership – 40%

• Lead the software development lifecycle, overseeing end-to-end solution development envisioned by architects

• Act as the technical bridge between solution architecture, business analysis, design, development, infrastructure integration, quality testing, vendors, and project management

• Oversee the projects and programs solution delivery for the functional stream and dependencies across functional workstreams

• Lead the principles that guide quality management when it comes to delivery of the solution

• Decide on technical architecture changes, compliance with requirements and alignment with business objectives in collaboration with solution architects and business leads

• Ensure a consistent understanding of the solution across all team members

• Drives and takes functional and technology solutioning and decisions for the stream

• Lead and coordinate daily work of internal Solution Designer Specialists and Analysts

Day-to-Day Operations – 40%

• Collaborate with Business Lead and Subject Mater Experts (SMEs), Product Owner, Product Manager, and Architects, to understand business objectives and purpose of the future application

• Supports requirements gathering and architecture shaping

• Perform research to understand ‘As Is’ applications and architecture artifacts

• Understand integration points between, legacy systems, front-end, back-end and satellite systems and highlight potential solution delivery risks

• Envision and identify systems components required to deliver the full integrated solution

• Collaborate with Business and Data Designers to define data conversion strategy

• Collaborate with Quality Assurance to build-up strategies and overall integration testing requirements

• Escalate potential architecture changes or change in scope

• Review and approve functional design documents and ensure consistency of documentation of integrated solution

• Collaborate to the preparation and coordination of the full implementation plan

• Ensures solution is stable in production and properly transferred to core

• Master the end-to-end solution and act as the go-to person for any question related to the solution in scope for delivery

• Ensure solution is stable and sustainable in Production Environment

• Assist in defining design standards, maintaining and evolving governance, and foundational best practices (i.e., design patterns, design principles)

• Maintain the currency of the design documentation

• Lead technical discussions and moderate technical decisions

Effective Collaboration – 20%

• Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional technical teams, fostering innovation and efficient problem-solving

• Engage with both business stakeholders, external solution integrators, and technical experts, adapting communication styles as needed

• Logs, tracks, and updates Risks Assumptions Issues Dependencies log with a mitigation approach to reduce project and program risks

Working Conditions

The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. The role is eligible to participate in CN’s hybrid model completing 3 days at CN office and 2 days working from home. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure and stress.

Experience

Solution & Systems integration Systems, Applications and Products

• Minimum 8 years overall work experience

• Minimum 5 years experience in SAP ECC or S4 HANA

§ Experience with cloud technologies (e.g., SAP Ariba, SAP Fieldglass)

§ Experience with Procurement and Supply Management business processes and associated solutions

§ Demonstrated experience delivering technology projects involving multiple parties

• Education/Certification/Designation

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree and experience

Level of Interaction/Influence

The Expert, Solution and System Integration – Systems, Applications, and Products interacts with individuals internal and external to CN. Within the organization, the incumbent liaises with Project Managers, Business leads and third-party Integrator leads. Outside of CN, the role communicates with vendors.

This position is posted as a grade LEVEL 7. For internal candidates, note that the grade level of the position may adjust based on the employee's experience.
