VCA Carriage Hills Animal Hospital is hiring an experienced Veterinary Assistant with a passion for emergency and critical care medicine to support our ICU!

About the Role
As Veterinary Assistant, you will support our emergency and critical care services by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our patients, clients and team. Experience with veterinary ER/ICU is required.
Duties will include:
Patient triage and assessment
Compassionate and attentive care for our hospitalized patients
Client education and care
Venipuncture
Medication and IV infusion preparation and administration
Surgical preparation and assisting
Anesthesia assistance
Radiology and diagnostics
Lab sample collection and processing
Safe and effective patient handling and restraint
Medical recordkeeping
Qualifications
Experience as a veterinary technician or veterinary assistant in an emergency and critical care setting required
Alabama Veterinary Technician license (LVT) strongly preferred
Able to proficiently perform veterinary technical skills including those listed above
