Revenue Recognition Analyst

Please note! Job location, work from home but needs to be based in or relocate to either San Antonio, TX or Austin TX.

Revenue Recognition Mission

We promote consistent revenue recognition practices worldwide through collaboration with our stakeholders, training and development, and continuous improvement of our processes, all while remaining committed to our responsibility as business fiduciaries to ensure Oracle reports revenue in accordance with current accounting standards.

Responsibilities

  • Review and document draft and executed contracts for compliance with Oracle’s Revenue Recognition, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (ASC 606) and other corporate policies to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

  • Provide technical accounting advice to Sales, Business Practices, Deal Management and Legal teams during deal negotiation stage such that revenues are optimized where possible and revenue risk is mitigated in accordance Oracle’s Revenue Recognition Policy and GAAP (ASC 606)

  • Ensure all revenue allocations/adjustments are accounted for accurately and timely, and duly communicated to relevant stakeholders to facilitate in their accurate forecasting of revenues

  • Maintain an up-to-date and thorough knowledge of Oracle’s Revenue Recognition Policy, technical accounting policies and Oracle business practices

  • Provide support to external auditors and participate in ad hoc projects as required

Responsibilities

Desired Skills And Experience

  • Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent

  • Minimum two years accounting experience, with exposure to revenue accounting (ASC 606) ideal but not essential

  • Strong analytical, time management, and problem-solving skills with a focus on organization in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with internal and external stakeholders

  • Ability to work under pressure and think through complex scenarios

  • Customer focused, proactive, goal-oriented self-starter with a keen attention to detail

  • Strong desire to continually learn and adapt to changes in revenue recognition polices & practices

  • Experience working with business approvals and contracting is beneficial

  • Public accounting experience is a plus

  • Fluent in English is essential; fluency in other languages (i.e. Spanish or Portuguese) is a plus

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $70,600 to $141,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
