Oracle Health’s Database Services Team is a client-facing organization supporting 400+ customers with an extensive fleet of databases across the world. As a member of the team, you will solve interesting technical challenges by defining, designing, and deploying code to automate infrastructure and database operations while always thinking about reliability, scalability, resilience, security, and performance. This Role's responsibility includes evolving an automation framework that services our entire hosted global database fleet on-prem and in the cloud. These databases support mission critical hospital systems around the world.

An ideal candidate will have an extensive history of deploying code to manage distributed endpoints and exposure to Oracle database lifecycle management. Experience working and automating processes in Cloud platforms including Exadata Cloud service and Autonomous Database platforms is a plus. This position will identify improvements in our delivery capabilities and mentor junior members of the team. An ideal candidate will be capable of managing multiple simultaneous projects and keeping them on schedule, meeting program and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

What You'll DoOwnership Scope – As a Principal Member of Technical Staff, you will understand the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall behavioral characteristics of the automation framework you own. In partnership with stakeholders, you will have the responsibility to ensure that services are designed and delivered to be mission critical with focus on security, resiliency, scale, and performance.

Operations Engineering – You will understand and be able to communicate the scale, capacity, security, performance attributes and requirements of the services you own.

Automation – You will have a clear understanding of automation and orchestration principles, database platforms, and will be eager to automate, wherever and whenever the possibility arises, while simultaneously eliminating technical debt. Automation must be part of your DNA.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications• 8+ years of experience automating and streamlining processes to add performance and stability• 3+ years of experience working with Oracle Database lifecycle• Bachelor’s degree/master’s degree (Information Technology/Mathematics/Computer Science/Computer Software/Electronics/Operational Research/Computer System Engineering).• Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.• Strong grasp of Computer Science concepts• Knowledge in Ansible, Python, Perl and Shell Scripting• You are experienced at building highly available services, possessing knowledge of common service-oriented design patterns and service-to-service communication protocols.• Experience with production operations and best practices for putting quality code in production and troubleshoot issues when they arise• Able to effectively communicate technical ideas verbally and in writing (technical proposals, design specs, architecture diagrams and presentations)• Understand the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall behavioral characteristics of production services.

Skills:• Advanced scripting/coding skills (Shell, Perl, and Python) • Oracle Database• Oracle Cloud Infrastructure• Oracle Data Management

• Understanding of REST Architecture and JSON.• Linux OS system experience with good understanding how the Linux kernel works (IO, Network, etc.) and ability to read and understand source code.

Responsibilities

As a member of the Oracle Health Database Services team, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the lifecycle management operations of operating systems, databases, and cloud services.

US: Hiring Range: from $94,200 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
