Position Overview

The role of the National Sales Manager requires the ability to develop and execute a territory business plan to drive growth of Polaris Marine products. Keys to success are being able to; maximize Polaris Marine products market share within an assigned territory by expanding share of wallet in existing dealers, expanding the dealer network, and cultivating under-performing dealers as required. Use data to proactively work with dealers and prospects to ensure Polaris Marine is properly represented in each market within the territory. Provide product recommendations, technical training, and boat show support as needed.

Essential Job Functions

Develop, execute, and refine a strategic growth plan for the assigned territory

Manage the territory to support share growth strategies; including share of wallet expansion, assigning new dealers, and cultivating or replacing underperforming accounts

Provide support to dealers through training, market data insights, and boat show assistance

Provide retail selling support for dealer when required

Assist defining marketing activities to support Polaris Marine growth

Provide sales management support of all Polaris Marine products

Maximize profitability through expense management and pricing controls on product

Represent the company in a professional manner actively promoting the company’s products to potential clients and safeguarding the company’s interests

Report on the key activities within the region towards assigned business objectives

Requirements

Minimum five years regional sales experience with an OEM

Ability to Travel up to 75% of the time including overnight stays and weekends

Boating product knowledge and industry experience

Track record of building strong relationships with dealer networks

Sales process experience

Value selling experience

Proven track record of sustained market growth year over year

Experience working with multinational companies

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Strong organizational skills and interpersonal skills

Strong working relationships with teams and senior management

Detail oriented

Ability to analyze and present data to drive decisions on both product and distribution

Ability to manage multiple tasks and interruptions

Other Skills/Abilities

B.A. degree from an accredited college or university

Experience in developing and implementing strategies based on competitive knowledge,

Market trends and business opportunities.

Language Skills

Respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints

Ability to create and articulate clear and effective presentations

Reasoning Ability

Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

Ability to deal with several abstract and concrete variables
