Roles and Responsibilities

Establishing and Executing Controls: Implement robust financial controls to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable standards. Regularly review and update control procedures to adapt to new regulations and business needs.

Technical Accounting Guidance: Serve as the go-to expert for technical accounting matters. Prepare detailed accounting memos and policy write-ups to guide staff and ensure adherence to the latest accounting standards and best practices.

Overall Auditing and Testing: Lead auditing initiatives, including planning, execution, and reporting. Conduct thorough testing of financial systems and controls to identify areas for improvement and ensure reliability and integrity of financial data.

Automation and Finance Transformation Initiatives: Champion finance transformation by identifying opportunities for automation. Lead projects aimed at streamlining financial processes through the use of technology, enhancing efficiency, and reducing manual efforts.

Required Characteristics

Expert-Level Knowledge in Accounting: Deep understanding of accounting principles and practices, with a preference for candidates with Big Four experience or equivalent.

Proficiency in Technology: Strong skills in Python, SQL, or related technologies. At the very least, candidates should have a strong interest and ability to self-learn these tools to apply them effectively in financial processes.

Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insights based on complex analyses.

Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and precision in executing financial tasks and preparing reports.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical accounting concepts to non-experts.

Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and regulatory environments.

Desired Characteristics

Big Four Experience: Previous experience in a Big Four accounting firm is highly desirable, though not mandatory.

Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead projects and teams, driving finance transformation initiatives and fostering a collaborative team environment.

Innovation Mindset: Interest in exploring new technologies and methodologies to enhance financial operations and reporting.

Professional Certifications: CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or other relevant accounting qualifications are preferred
