CSafe Engineering Technician in Monroe, Ohio

CSafe is seeking an Engineering Technician in Monroe, Ohio to join our world class global engineering team!  In this role, you will support the development and testing of temperature-controlled packaging to support CSafe's Active, Cell & Gene and data product portfolios. Essential Functions:

  • Construct prototype thermal containers, packaging, parcels and cooling media and other supporting packaging materials
  • Prepare materials and test samples to be used in thermal and distribution qualification testing
  • Execute testing protocols according to written test procedures and industry standards and company procedures
  • Compile all test data upon completion of testing
  • Draft technical documentation for qualification test report, packaging instructions and precondition studied for the Test Engineer
  • Provide feedback to Test Engineer and Engineering Team for optimization of products and processes throughout the testing and evaluations process
  • Perform Equipment Validation Studies periodically per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Ability to perform thermal calculation, analysis and computer simulation of packaging product and cooling media
  • Maintain the technical and laboratory workplace to a high level of organization, cleanliness and order using 5S techniques
  • Monitor and give both verbal and written project status updates on testing progress and results to the engineering team
  • Assist with maintaining operational approvals, equipment maintenance and calibration activities

Qualifications and Experiences:

  • Associate degree in electronics, electrical, or mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • +3 years' experience within a test laboratory or similar industry would be preferable
  • ISTA Packaging Technician certifications would be beneficial (or ability to gain)
  • Operate, program and maintain thermal test chambers and data acquisition systems
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 suite of programs with proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD software (Solidworks) and testing guidelines (ISTA, ASTM, IATA) a plus.
  • Create, read and understand technical drawings, test standards and test protocols and reports.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, are important.
  • Willingness to quickly adjust priorities based on business needs.
  • Must be self-motivated and be able to self-manage. 
  • Must possess analytical thinking and reasoning skills.
  • Must be thorough and exercise attention to detail.
