Job Summary
The S/4HANA Program Manager (PM) plays a pivotal role in leading the digital transformation journey by overseeing the planning, execution, and governance of the S/4HANA implementation. This individual ensures that the program aligns with strategic business objectives, improves operational efficiency, and drives long-term value realization.
The PM collaborates with executive leadership, business stakeholders, IT teams, and third-party vendors to define and implement a scalable, future-ready SAP S/4HANA ecosystem. This includes modernizing financial, operational, and customer-facing processes while ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
Principal Responsibilities
Strategic Oversight & Governance
Establish and govern the S/4HANA program framework, roadmap and governance structure, ensuring compliance with water utility regulations and cybersecurity standards.
Oversee all administrative aspects inclusive of: RFP/bid development, contracts/statement of work, vendor relationship, procurement of professional services and BOM/materials.
Prepare updates for decision of the Steering Committee (SC)
Work with executives, IT, and business leaders to ensure alignment with regulatory and operational requirements.
Readiness Assessment & Planning
Assess current systems (on-prem SAP and hosted solutions) to define readiness.
Evaluate and prioritize Phase 0 projects, including CVI, data readiness and customer service.
Define target architecture that aligns with water utility-specific needs (e.g., regulatory reporting, real-time monitoring, GIS integration).
Develop and present business cases for investment in S/4HANA capabilities.
Lead business process mapping workshops with functional teams.
Execution & Staffing
Help procure and onboard key project leads (Project Managers, Functional, and Technical Leads).
Oversee project execution and ensure adherence to budget, timeline, and compliance requirements.
Monitor risks, dependencies, and stakeholder concerns to ensure successful transformation.
Change Management & Adoption
Develop and execute a comprehensive change management strategy, fostering adoption among the end user community.
Lead risk management, budgeting, and stakeholder alignment to deliver a timely, cost-effective, and sustainable digital transformation.
Work with HR and training teams to develop end-user training programs for field workers, engineers, and administrative staff.
Preferred Requirements
10+ years of experience in enterprise IT program management, with at least 5 years in SAP ERP implementations.
Proven experience leading large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformations, including migration from SAP ECC and integration with utility-specific systems (GIS, SCADA, CRM, asset management, billing, etc.).
Deep understanding of water utility operations, regulatory reporting, and industry best practices.
Exposure in enterprise architecture, cloud strategies (SAP BTP, Azure, AWS), and cybersecurity requirements for public utilities.
Strong stakeholder engagement, executive communication, and team leadership skills.
Experience with SAP IS-U (Industry Solution for Utilities), SAP Fiori/UI5, and SAP Cloud Platform.
Education/Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Information Systems, or Engineering prefered.
Salary
• Job is classified as an exempt position with an annual salary range of $175,000 - $225,000
• After 3 months of successful employment, this role will be eligible for a hybrid schedule (3 days office/2 days remote).
• Two - Three Year Employment Contract
