The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND .
Your Responsibilities
As a Part-Time Student Manufacturing Engineer for John Deere Seeding Group located in Moline, IL , you will support the Planter Assembly business unit. You will collaborate and support the Manufacturing Engineering team in several key engineering functions: Continuous Improvement (CI-200) projects, mistake-proofing initiatives, creating/modifying work instructions, supporting capital investment projects, John Deere Assembly Assist Tool (JDAAT) updates, and other Engineering initiatives as identified by the team.
What Skills You Need
Basic knowledge of engineering statics, mechanics of materials, analysis and design of simple structures, engineering graphics, use of software tools such as CAD, spreadsheets, and project management tools.
Pursuing a four-year degree in an Engineering/Technology discipline.
Must be registered as a full-time student at a local university in the Quad Cities area
Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis
Graduation date December 2026 or beyond
Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
16 - 20 hours/week during the academic year
40 hours/week during the summer semester

Previous experience with design of tooling to improve manufacturing processes
