Amentum Vehicle Maintenance Technician in Mogadishu, Somalia
Seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Technician/Mechanic to support vehicle maintenance on engineering equipment, vehicles, and generators for a construction site. This position will be based out of multiple locations in Somalia. The duties and responsibilities herein are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.
Responsibilities include:
Perform up to level 3 maintenance on all types of generators, engineering equipment, and Toyota type vehicles.
Troubleshoot electrical components to include, ignition points, alternators, regulators, and solenoids.
Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot breakdowns, and repair malfunctioning generator systems and components; utilize measuring and testing instruments.
Repair small motor generators, troubleshoot equipment by adjusting valves, carburetors ignition points, alternators, regulators, and solenoids.
Perform repairs & maintenance accurately by interpreting equipment blueprints and schematics.
Maintaining workshop equipment, tools, and filing service reports.
Requirements – Desired Qualifications:
Must be proficient in both mechanical and electrical applications and have knowledge in troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair for diesel generator sets with their associated fuel systems.
Have general working knowledge of auto electrical checks on vehicles and generators.
Must have 10 years’ experience in general vehicle maintenance and repair field.
Well-organized, punctual, reliable, and conscientious, and capable of managing resources and schedules to affect deadlines.
Language Skills: Professional English communication skills, both oral and written.
Prior experience working in austere conditions.
Must have experience working in Africa.
Must be physically fit and healthy to execute work in an extreme hot environment.
Must be capable to work with multiple different cultures.
Must be disciplined and follow company and site supervisor procedures, regulations, and ethics code of conduct.
