Library Systems & Services Web Developer in Mobile, Alabama

LAC Federal is seeking a Web Developer to support a federal agency by supporting and enhancing existing infrastructure while also spearheading the development of new technologies. This position involves creating both packaged and customized web applications, responding to the needs identified by supervisors and management. Additionally, the Web Developer will design and implement a company-wide intranet, optimizing data manipulation for internal staff members. Maintenance and enhancement of existing web applications and integration with internal systems are also key responsibilities. The Web Developer will conduct comprehensive testing of web applications, including unit and system testing, and engage users in the acceptance testing process. Furthermore, they will design and implement user-friendly templates, databases, and interfaces, with a focus on ease of use. Database-driven web interfaces will be developed to facilitate rapid, real-time information sharing. External web portals will also be created to enable users to input and retrieve accurate information.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Web Application Development: Develop both new and customized web applications in response to identified needs from supervisors and management.

  • Intranet Development: Create a company-wide intranet to facilitate data manipulation for internal staff members, ensuring ease of access and usability.

  • Maintenance and Enhancement: Maintain and enhance existing web applications, ensuring seamless integration with internal systems and infrastructure.

  • Testing: Perform comprehensive testing of web applications, including unit and system testing, and engage users in acceptance testing to ensure functionality meets requirements.

  • Design and Implementation: Design and implement user-driven templates, databases, and interfaces to optimize ease of use for internal and external users.

  • Database-driven Interfaces: Develop database-driven web interfaces to enable rapid, real-time information sharing across the organization.

  • External Web Portals: Create external web portals to allow users to input and retrieve accurate information, enhancing communication and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent in a relevant field.

  • Minimum of 9-14 years of experience in web development.

  • Proficiency in web application development using a variety of programming languages and frameworks.

  • Strong understanding of database management and integration.

  • Experience in intranet development and maintenance.

  • Excellent testing and debugging skills.

  • Ability to design and implement user-friendly interfaces and templates.

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
