The Role

The Social Media Specialist is an integral part of the marketing team and has direct ownership for the strategy and execution of Caterpillar’s Marine and Oil and Gas global social media channels. This includes the planning and directing of content by coordinating closely with cross team members as well as agencies and working together with our agency partners on the execution, ensuring the content is compelling for our followers while driving company goals. Your focus will be on building brand relevance by planning and strategizing social media campaigns that increase engagement, build and engage with our community, and inspire action. The role requires creativity, strong communication, project management skills, agility, and a deep understanding of social media trends and technologies.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the business objective and opportunities to develop and align the marketing tactics.

  • Conducting market/competitive research to identify new opportunities and industry trends.

  • Define content strategy, goals, and objectives. Create a measurement framework in partnership with analytics for all social media content to meet department and organizational goals

  • Maintaining effective internal communications in the marketing department to discuss and align the marketing strategy to the changing organizational scenarios.

  • Supporting global teams with strategies and content that would resonate with their regions that may include Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, WeChat, and WhatsApp.

Additional Information

  • Up to 20% travel

  • Relocation assistance to Houston, TX, Cary, NC or Miramar, FL is available

  • This role is fully onsite

Summary Pay Range:

$87,480.00 - $131,280.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
