City Of Minneapolis-Human Resources Video Production Coordinator in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Position Description The City of Minneapolis is searching for a talented and creative Video Production Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical role in bridging the gap between the City and its residents by crafting engaging video and multimedia content. You'll Partner with City departments, staff, and policymakers to effectively communicate information about the programs, policies, and initiatives of the City of Minneapolis to both external and internal audiences. Job Duties and Responsibilities Pre-Production Concept Development & Collaboration: Brainstorm and develop creative concepts for various video projects (public service announcements, explainer videos, press conferences, social clips, etc.) Collaborate with stakeholders (Department liaisons, Mayor, City Council, etc.) to collaborate on a variety of productions. Develop and design graphic packages and visual images for video and social. Create interview-based questions that produce a desired message. Project Planning & Logistics: Produce scripts in collaboration with City Departments and Communications team members. Perform video production tasks that include logging, selecting footage, adjusting audio, color correcting, editing music, special effects and compressing & sharing projects. Production Filming & Directing: Shoot professional video. Must have knowledge of the following: DSLR cinema cameras, lenses, traditional fixed lens cameras, Go Pro's and the DJI Osmo. Direct scripted and live action productions, guiding talent and ensuring adherence to the shot list. Capture footage for live and recorded events (press conferences, City Council meetings) Photography: Shoot high-quality still photography for various purposes Post-Production Editing & Storytelling: Edit video footage with a focus on clear storytelling and audience engagement. Logging, audio adjustment, color correction, music editing, and special effects. Provide professional voiceover narration for videos Graphics & Design: Design and develop graphic packages and visual elements within the project. Additional Responsibilities Project Management: Prioritize and manage a diverse workload with long- and short-term projects. Set up, operate, and maintain video and photo equipment during live events. Produce videos in Spanish, Hmong, and Somali (script organization, teleprompter operation) Resource & Support: Act as a multimedia resource for City staff, providing support and guidance. Perform routine equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. Troubleshoot technical issues related to internet streaming and cable broadcast of City Council meetings. Serve as a backup technical director for live City Council meetings. Required Qualifications MINIMUM EDUCATION: Associate's degree in Media and Video Production or a related field. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE Three years of related experience in videography, photography, gathering audio, scripting, editing, 2D animation, voice-over, and graphic design utilizing the Adobe Creative Suite. EQUIVALENCY An equivalent combination of education and highly related experience in a similar environment may be considered. LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: None required. SELECTION PROCESS The selection process will consist of a rating of relevant education and experience (100%). It is important that your application show all the relevant education and experience you possess. This information will be used to determine which candidates will proceed in the selection process. A submitted application is also used to verify the answers to any supplemental questions. Only those candidates who attain a passing score (70%) on each step in the selection process will be placed on the eligible list. The City of Minneapolis Human Resources Department reserves the right to limit the number in any phase of the selection process. BACKGROUND CHECK The City has determined that a criminal background check is necessary for positions with this job title. Applicants must sign an informed con ent allowing the City to obtain their criminal history information in connection with the position sought. Applicants who do not sign the informed consent form will not be considered for the position. DRUG AND ALCOHOL TESTING All job applicants must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test once a conditional offer of employment has been made. Applicants will be required to sign a notification and consent form prior to undergoing drug and alcohol testing. Applicants who do not consent to undergo drug and alcohol testing will not be required to do so and the City will withdraw the conditional job offer, resulting in the job applicant no longer being considered for the position. This list will be certified to the hiring manager who may use the list to fill a vacancy of the same job title. This eligible list will expire three (3) months after it has been established. INTERVIEW SELECTION The hiring authority reserves the right to determine the maximum number of candidates to interview from the established eligible list. If the hiring authority decides to interview other than by exam score order, they may select additional people to interview based on a candidate's education or experience related to the field, work history, or skills uniquely related to the operational needs of the position.
