Position Summary The Vascular Access Registered Nurse provides expert peripheral intravenous (PIV), PICC line placements and other vascular access related tasks. This includes developing (as needed) and maintaining clinical expertise in the placement of PICC lines, teaching and mentoring RN's on the floors about basic IV care such as the use of safety catheters, being a clinical expert resource for the organization in vascular access issues and working closely with the staff to improve organizational access, flow and customer experience and assisting in the development of this new program. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current MN nursing license. BLS certification. Current 2-3 years of pediatric nursing experience Current expertise in vascular access such as placing peripheral IV's in children. Competent in assessment and treatment of VAD sites for all complications. An informational meeting with the Patient Care Manager is required prior to awarding the position. The posted pay range represents rates for a grouping of multiple jobs within a salary grade. We carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Children's Minnesota.
