The mechanical systems in a building include the heating and cooling plants, air and water distribution systems, fire protection, plumbing, and control systems to operate the mechanical systems in the most energy efficient manner. In this role you will: The co-op student will learn to use software to analyze the heating and cooling loads in buildings. The student will also be trained to model mechanical systems in Revit - the 3D drafting tool used in the construction industry. The co-op student may also be involved in various mechanical design tasks such as analyzing stresses in steam distribution piping, calculating the outside air required in a health care facility, or modeling distribution ductwork and piping in an office complex.
