Job Description

The HR Risk and Compliance team is hiring. The newly created Senior Business Risk Manager will partner with Senior to Executive Leaders in Human Resources (HR), the Human Resources Chief Risk Officer team, and lines of defense to develop/implement/maintain an effective risk management framework. The role will be accountable for staying apprised of HR solution development/maintenance, their intersection with risk programs, and development/implementation of a sound control environment in accordance with federal/state/local laws and bank policy (e.g., monitoring the control environment, participating in go to market projects, facilitating business change risk routines). The role will work closely with peers in the Human Resources Chief Risk Officer team, leveraging their expertise on the evolving risk environment and impacts on Human Resources (e.g., regulatory changes, policy updates, emerging risks, strategic risk priorities) to influence the control environment. The role will serve as the central point of contact for preparing for/consulting on/executing against testing activity (e.g., audit, compliance quality assurance, independent risk review engagements, business line quality assurance) and addressing outcomes accordingly (e.g., developing remediation plans and facilitating the execution of same in partnership HR leadership). The ideal candidate will have considerable knowledge of risks and expected controls pertaining to Human Resources and the financial services industry. The organization's risk management structure is designed to promote effective governance and risk management that is systematic, transparent, credible, timely, and verifiable through clear delineation and execution of key roles and responsibilities. Its goal is to manage risks that may impact the company, including compliance, operational, reputational, strategic, and other risks as appropriate.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Typically has 10 or more years of applicable experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Risk Management experience in support of a business line or department (Human resources is ideal or other 2nd line of defense experience)

  • Financial services industry risk experience

  • Diplomacy and ability to influence at all levels of an organization

  • Ability to build and maintain strong business relationships

  • Experience educating and influencing leaders on maintaining a control environment

  • Adept at managing through business changes (vendor changes, new services, and offerings)

  • Skilled writer and verbal communicator, ability to synthesize highly complex processes

Location: The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $145,180.00 - $170,800.00 - $187,880.00
