Job Overview

Opened in 2020, the Pillars of Prospect Park is conveniently located off the light rail transit station and close to the metro bus near the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis, MN. This senior living community features 133 Independent living, 106 assisted living and 44 memory care apartments. Two buildings, make up this vibrant community and also encompasses an on-site Intergenerational Child Care Center. We are looking for a Resident Assistant/Home Health Aide whom would be responsible for providing personal cares and designated health related services to improve and/or maintain the senior residents’ physical and emotional well-being. Will also get trained to pass medications. NO CNA required, unless under 18 years old.

This caregiver position includes;

  • 40 hours every two weeks ; part-time

  • Evening Shift ; shift differential available

  • Every other weekend and holiday rotation

Responsibilities

  • Assists residents with personal cares including but not limited to:

  • Bathing/showering

  • Foot and fingernail care

  • Shaving

  • Dressing

  • Assistance with use of hearing aids and/or glasses

  • Hair care

  • Feeding

  • Toileting

  • Escorts

  • 1-2 person transfers and use of mechanical lift

  • Provides health-related services as directed: Assists with treatments per individualized care plan under the direction of the Registered Nurse. (includes blood glucose monitoring)

  • Administers medication or assists with this under the direction of the Registered Nurse (includes insulin injections). Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration under the direction of the Registered Nurse

  • Observes tenants/residents and reports status to appropriate staff.

  • Notifies appropriate staff of changes in physical and/or emotional conditions such as change in attitude or mood, loss of appetite, change in weight.

  • Serves as a mandated reporter and reports any concerns regarding potential mistreatment

  • Offers pertinent observations and input.

  • Responds appropriately to resident and building emergencies.

Required Qualifications

  • GED or High School Diploma

  • less than 1 year experience

  • Satisfy the Minnesota Home Care licensure qualification, training, and competency for unlicensed staff found in Statue 144A.4795 subd. 3

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-3 years experience
