Our goal is to extend the period of time that we remain healthy, independent, and able to enjoy a high quality of life! Lab Research Summary: Using several mouse models, our group investigates the role of cellular senescence (resulting from deficient DNA repair mechanisms) in normal aging and in various disease settings. As an aging research laboratory, our broad goal is to improve the health of our aging human population by decreasing disease burden. The hiree will join a team of scientists in the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Biophysics and the Institute on the Biology of Aging and Metabolism at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.
