position summary Merjent, Inc. (Merjent) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Engineering to lead our engineering team in the power and electric division, focusing on transmission and distribution linear projects. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic planning, development, and execution of projects that enhance our infrastructure's reliability and efficiency. This is a leadership role that requires a combination of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and team management to ensure our projects are delivered successfully on time, and within budget. Flexible/hybrid work arrangements are available, as Merjent promotes this for self-sufficient professionals who can work and/or learn successfully in a remote work environment. The anticipated salary for this position is between $182,500 and $219,500, depending on qualifications and experience. responsibilities The Engineering Director in transmission and distribution design is responsible for the following: Lead the engineering team in the planning, design, and execution of transmission and distribution projects, with a focus on linear projects. Oversee project lifecycle, including feasibility studies, design, planning, execution, and commissioning, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory standards. Develop and implement engineering strategies, processes, and practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness within the division. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project management, finance, regulatory affairs, and external stakeholders, to ensure project success. Manage and mentor engineering staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes that may impact project planning and execution. Ensure rigorous risk management practices are in place, including identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with projects.
