Job Overview

Conveniently located near the light rail transit station and metro bus line, POPP is close to the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis, MN.

We are looking for a Server/Culinary Assistant to join our team! This position is responsible for dining room and to-go meal service for residents.

This nutrition services schedule includes;

  • 28 hours per two weeks ; part-time

  • 4pm - 7pm Shift

  • Every other weekend and holiday rotation

Responsibilities

  • Serves meals and ensures that the dining area is clean and inviting:

  • Follows meal serving schedule and procedures.

  • Offers resident meal choices and meets resident’s specific dietary needs.

  • Uses proper safety and sanitation techniques.

  • Follows dining room cleaning schedule and procedures.

  • Follow proper procedures for dining room set-up.

  • Follows proper work flow to stay on task.

  • Learns and becomes proficient with EMenu System and restaurant style service.

  • Ensures all dishes (including flatware, drinkware, etc.) are washed, sanitized, and put away before end of shift.

  • Promotes and encourages positive resident relations and satisfaction:

  • Welcomes residents and initiates conversation.

  • Accommodates resident requests such as requests for food substitution, change in seating, etc.

  • Listens to any complaints and responds appropriately. Refers issues to Executive Director and Culinary Director as appropriate.

Required Qualifications

  • less than 1 year experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma

  • 1 year experience
