Description: This is a new position that will support both Care non-clinical case management, as well as student advocacy in student conduct matters. Work will involve mild and moderate cases with the opportunity to progressively take on more complex work with experience and comfortability. The Coordinator utilizes a student development approach in supporting the students they work with. The successful candidate must be interested in providing support to students in distress through direct support and resource referrals. The successful candidate will support students through matters including by not limited to death or serious illness of a family member; medical illness/injury/hospitalization; mental health related concerns; financial hardship/ distress; and increased stress or other unexpected difficulties. The Coordinator will also advise and represent students while providing students' perspectives at disciplinary meetings and hearings, balancing students' due process rights, and prioritizing student development outcomes. The Coordinator must familiarize themselves with University conduct proceedings and policies, in order to apply this information to current proceedings. Specifically, the Coordinator will serve as an advocate for students who have concerns with scholastic dishonesty and behavioral misconduct. The Coordinator will work primarily with undergraduate student cases. Job responsibilities: Student Advocacy (45%): Balance students' due process rights and student development outcomes Meet with students, conduct intakes, and provide guidance about the disciplinary process Develop case strategies through consultations with staff Consult with parties and negotiate resolutions for mild and moderate cases Initiate formal fact-finding processes, including interviewing witnesses, analyzing data, and preparing cases for hearings Apply research skills and understanding of University policies Collaborate with students in formulating and presenting opening statements, cross examinations, and closing statements at hearings Represent students in formal hearing settings, as needed Support student in filing written appeals, as needed Maintain a positive relationship with University staff, faculty, and students Understand the University's reporting structure and work in tandem with the University staff and faculty Collaborate closely with Assistant Directors and Director of Care and Student Advocacy Services on case assignments Non-clinical Case Management (45%): Provide follow-up support to faculty, staff, and student reporters involving students in distress Conduct outreach and develop detailed action plans and/or interventions for students in distress Provide effective communication and organized collaboration amongst key University departments, faculty, staff, community agencies, and facilities Collect, evaluate, and record all facts pertaining to students' cases, utilizing the Maxient database Provide referrals to support services within the University as well as community agencies Follow up on prior cases to ensure compliance with recommendations Collaborate closely with Assistant Directors and Director of Care and Student Advocacy Services on case assignments Administration (10%) Review and analyze data for Care and Student Advocacy Services in close collaboration with the Director Prepare for Student Service Fee annual requests in close collaboration with the Director Schedule and manage meetings and/or hearing schedules with students Create and maintain confidential and private case files using Maxient (Care) and Titanium (Student Advocacy) Assist with annual budgeting and presentation process rovide feedback on unit growth and development Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: BA/BS plus at least 4 years of related experience or master's degree plus at least two years of relevant experience Demonstrated commitment towards diversity, equity, and inclusion work including working with diverse populations of students Ability to work with student conduct processes in a higher education setting Ability to work with college students in distress Strong verbal, written, communication, and interpersonal skills Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in student affairs, counseling, higher education, or related field Experience with Title IX in higher education Highly organized, proactive, strong ability to assist others in navigating through complex situations Nonclinical case management experience Client intake and management experience Conflict resolution experience Experience with database management Ability to prioritize college student development Ability to plan, monitor, evaluate, and manage multiple priorities Demonstrated ability to partner and collaborate with campus faculty and staff Ability to adapt advocacy skills to an administrative process Additional Information: The annual salary range is $54,000-$57,000, depending on experience. Work will be completed in a hybrid environment.
