Job Title: Lathe Machinist

Job Description

As a Lathe Machinist, you will be responsible for operating one or two Hardinge lathe machining centers to produce aerospace and medical parts. You will inspect parts using basic inspection equipment and perform necessary documentation for ISO audits. Production runs typically range from 100-500 parts. You will perform changeovers from one lathe machine to another once the parts are completed. The parts being produced require tight tolerances, and you will be monitoring your machine to ensure measurements are precise.

Responsibilities

  • Operate one or two Hardinge lathe machining centers to produce aerospace and medical parts.

  • Inspect parts using basic inspection equipment.

  • Perform necessary documentation for ISO audits.

  • Handle production runs typically ranging from 100-500 parts.

  • Perform changeovers from one lathe machine to another once parts are completed.

  • Monitor machine to ensure measurements are accurate and within tight tolerances.

Essential Skills

  • Technical degree and/or 2+ years of professional machining experience.

  • Previous experience operating CNC Lathe machines.

  • Ability to inspect own parts and read blueprints.

  • Proficiency in using micrometers and calipers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Hardinge IIISP, 42SP, and Fanuc controls is a plus.

  • Ability to fully set up machines for production runs.

  • Knowledge of lathe setup, lathe programming, CNC lathe operation, lathe milling, and GD&T.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $72800.00/yr.
