Your Opportunity
We are looking for a Drinking Water Treatment Engineer to support a variety of municipal drinking water treatment projects in Minnesota and the upper Midwest. You will be client facing and lead and support projects related to drinking water treatment. This includes treatment for traditional contaminants such as iron and manganese, as well as emerging treatment for PFAS. You will have the opportunity to engage in work that that spans local, regional, and national geographies. Being part of the Water team, you will work with Stantec’s industry leading Water professionals which includes over 4,000 Water staff in North America.
Your Key Responsibilities
Project Management and Delivery
- Identify appropriate resources to achieve project objectives.
- Project management tasks such as managing contract terms, tracking and managing costs and schedule, and implementing measures necessary to stay on schedule and within budget.
- Technical delivery of work including writing memos/reports and preparing other deliverables such as plans/specifications and other engineering documents.
- Support and lead construction administration efforts including site visits, submittal reviews, and other routine construction administration services.
- Lead multi-discipline project teams to successfully execute projects.
Business Development
- Understand client needs, communicate project status, lead client presentations.
- Lead efforts for proposal preparation and business development.
- Opportunities to attend conferences and lead technical presentations.
Administrative
- Serve as a mentor and provide guidance to a team of professionals.
- Assist with identification/recruitment of other top talent to continue to grow the Stantec team.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Proven project management and technical skills applicable to drinking treatment infrastructure projects.
Experienced in organizing, planning, and executing multi-discipline design projects from pursuit through closeout.
Ability to make sound defensible business decisions, and identify, assess, evaluate, and solve complex problems.
Experience with a variety of process system designs related to drinking treatment infrastructure.
Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
Education and Experience
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, engineering, or related technical discipline.
Minimum 10 years’ relevant professional experience, with at least 3 years of experience managing and/or coordinating water treatment infrastructure piloting, planning, design, and construction projects.
Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Minnesota or ability to achieve within one year of hire.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):
Salary Range(s):
- $102,100 - $153,200 Min/Max Pay Range(s) for postings located in MN, NYC/NY
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
