This role will also be responsible for coordinating logistics for raw materials and assuring that total landed cost, product quality, and supplier service level performance metrics are met. The Buyer/Planner II will also work with cross-functional teams across the organization to drive improvements to material planning and availability. Function within the guidelines of the Lube-Tech culture and principles Execute proper supply/demand planning, submission of purchase orders for raw materials, ensure purchase cost control, and maintain ideal inventory levels to properly support the production plan requirements for business demand Work with strategic sourcing, operations, and quality team members to establish and track supplier performance expectations and find cost savings solutions for the lowest total cost of ownership (TOC). Coordinate logistics and optimize the receiving schedule for incoming raw materials Escalate supplier delivery issues to management to ensure quick resolution of material shortages Improve and maintain inventory accuracy Collaborate with all internal Lube-Tech staff and external suppliers to manage new and existing business Assist with collecting, maintaining, and managing commodity data (i.e. specifications, pricing, market, and sourcing data) Approve invoices and resolve discrepancies as needed Provide backup and/or support to other enterprise Supply Chain roles (i.e. Planning/Scheduling/Procurement/Strategic Sourcing/Logistics) WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications): Education: Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience and/or Training: 3-7 years' experience in purchasing, strategic sourcing, and/or supply and demand planning roles, preferably within a manufacturing or distribution environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficient working knowledge of demand forecasting, MRP, transportation, supply chain, inventory management and warehousing disciplines Licenses/Certificates: APICS CPIM or CSCP certification preferred.
