Job Overview

Job Summary:

The Associate ServiceNow Platform Engineer supports the development, maintenance, and optimization of the ServiceNow platform. This role is designed for early-career professionals looking to build expertise in IT service management, automation, and platform administration. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, the associate engineer will execute configuration tasks, troubleshoot basic issues, and assist with platform enhancements while gaining hands-on experience with ServiceNow tools and best practices.

Job Responsibilities:

Platform Administration & Maintenance

· Assist with basic configuration and administration of the ServiceNow platform under senior team guidance.

· Support user management, permissions, and role assignments.

· Monitor system performance and report issues or inefficiencies to senior engineers.

Workflow & Automation Development

· Help configure Service Catalog items, workflows, and business rules.

· Leverage automation capabilities to solve business problems and streamline operations.

· Assist in testing and validating new configurations before deployment.

Incident & Problem Resolution

· Support troubleshooting basic ServiceNow issues and escalate complex problems to senior engineers.

· Respond to user inquiries and provide technical assistance related to the platform.

· Document resolutions and contribute to a knowledge base for common issues.

Collaboration & Learning

· Work closely with various teams to understand and document business requirements.

· Consult with stakeholders to demonstrate and provide training for specific platform capabilities.

· Participate in mentorship and training sessions led by senior engineers.

· Stay updated on ServiceNow best practices and industry trends.

Documentation & Standards Compliance

· Maintain accurate documentation for system configurations and troubleshooting steps.

· Adhere to IT governance and security policies while making system updates.

· Assist with data audits and remediation activities.

Minimum Qualifications to Fulfill Job Responsibilities:

Required

Education

· Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and related work experience

Experience

· 1-3 years of IT experience, preferably in enterprise systems, ITSM, or ServiceNow administration

· Exposure to ServiceNow or similar IT service management platforms

· Basic understanding of IT workflows, automation, and troubleshooting processes

· Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities

· Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical users

Preferred

Education

· Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience

· Experience with ServiceNow configurations, including forms, workflows, or reports

· Basic knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS and ServiceNow scripting tools

· Familiarity with ITIL framework or IT service management principles

License/Certification/Registration

· ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
