Workforce Resources Maintenance Helper - 1st Shift in Minersville, Pennsylvania

Summary:

The Maintenance Worker will inspect different equipment and perform any basic repairs or preventative maintenance when required. The maintenance worker will also maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install building electrical systems. This role should have previous experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance, be highly skilled with various hand and power tools, and be able to read blueprints and repair manuals.

Duties:

  • Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment.

  • Performing preventative maintenance.

  • Handling repairs and maintenance.

  • Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary.

  • Experience with 3 phase electrical system.

  • Diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues and correcting them.

  • Repairing machines, equipment, or structures as necessary.

  • Maintain, repair, and extend building electrical systems.

Requirements:

  • Proven maintenance experience.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

  • Related degree from a technical college.

  • Knowledge of electrical code

  • Knowledge of hydraulics

  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.

  • Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.

  • Ability to check blueprints, schematics, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.

  • Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.

  • Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.

  • Experience performing routine maintenance.

  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.

  • Eye for detail.

  • Professional presentation and attitude.

  • Ability to maintain focus while working individually.

  • Strong time management skills.

  • Diagnose problems and make repairs in the field on a 24-hour basis.

  • Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

  • Work extended hours out of doors in a variety of weather conditions.

  • Maintain records and reports.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees.

  • Follow written and verbal instructions, including manufacturers' service specifications.

  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Working conditions:

The maintenance department may need to work and communicate with other operations to understand any issues/concerns which may arise. Work performed in a plant environment. Work areas may be hot, humid, drafty, cold, and occasionally littered. Proper housekeeping techniques should be followed to eliminate dirty and cluttered areas. Hazards on the job may include cuts and bruises from handling heavy, bulky, or sharp-edged products. These are kept to a minimum by using proper personal protective equipment and following safety regulations. The work will be under the supervision of the facility manager.

Day Shift Hours, Monday-Friday but overtime may be required on Saturdays. 

Rate of pay depends on experience level. The range is determined to be between $21.91 - $26.37 per hour.
