Robert Half Payroll Administrator in Mineola, New York

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our team on a Contract-to-permanent basis in Garden City, New York. In this role, you will manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established policies, contributing to the seamless execution of payroll operations while collaborating with various departments.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate payroll processing activities, ensuring smooth workflows and timely execution.

• Manage employee data, including onboarding new team members, processing changes, and handling terminations for various employee categories.

• Audit timekeeping records to ensure compliance with organizational standards and regulations.

• Maintain and reconcile employee payroll records, resolving discrepancies as needed.

• Oversee the administration of the Automated Time and Attendance System, ensuring accurate data integration.

• Calculate and process payments for short-term disability, paid family leave, overtime, and other special payments.

• Handle payroll adjustments, manual checks, and stop payment requests as required.

• Prepare and generate detailed reports using Excel and other payroll reporting tools for internal use.

• Administer wage garnishments, including online child support payments, and process credit union deductions.

• Assist with quarterly 941 reconciliation and other tax-related tasks, including support for international students and nonresident alien scholarships.

Requirements

• Proven experience in payroll administration, preferably in a higher education or similar setting.

• Proficiency with payroll systems

• Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, wage garnishments, and tax compliance.

• Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools.

• Familiarity with automated time and attendance systems.

• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.

• Ability to handle sensitive employee information with confidentiality and professionalism.

• Effective communication skills to address employee inquiries and collaborate with multiple departments.
