Position Summary Under the direction of the Director of Core Labs, coordinates shared research resources in support of all research programs at the VBRI in order to maximize efficient laboratory operations. The Senior Coordinator ensures that all shared equipment is accurately inventoried, maintained and made readily available to support VBRI scientist and our campus partners. The Senior Coordinator will also ensure that essential laboratory infrastructure is available to support research. This role will work closely with the Director of Core Labs, the VBRI shared resource staff, and will interface regularly with Versiti Facilities, IS, Finance, EHS, and Research Administration. Responsibilities Oversees day-to-day operations, cleanliness, organization, and inventory of VBRI shared research equipment Ascertains that equipment is in good working order and arranges for repair/servicing as needed. Orders necessary supplies to support shared equipment function. Uses the iLabs system for managing shared research equipment and provides support to research staff using iLabs with shared equipment Maintains collaboration with research core labs and shared resource staff to maximize availability of state-of-the-art shared support resources. Ensures regulatory compliance of VBRI shared resources and laboratory operations in the areas of biological, chemical and radiation safety.
