MCW: SARGEANT HEALTH CENTER Research Technologist I in MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Description: Purpose The Patterson Lab is interested in the genetics, cellular biology, and physiology of heart development, disease and regeneration. The role of this RT1 position is to provide support for multiple laboratory projects, management and communication of data, and execution of laboratory experiments. Primary FunctionsUse standard molecular biology and histology techniques with rodent tissues and cells Provide support in managing mouse colonies for the lab including basic husbandry tasks, genotyping, and collection of tissue for downstream analyses. Record and compile accurate records and communicate summaries of experimental results to the lab staff and principal investigator. Assist with the evaluation, interpretation and assessment of experimental data and quality control of assays. Participate in weekly meetings with principal investigator and research staff and evaluate/interpret the validity of data as needed. Prepare solutions and necessary reagents following established protocols and techniques. Take initiative to help achieve laboratory goals and demonstrate good organizational and time management skills. Knowledge - Skills - Abilities Knowledge: General biology/physiology, documentation, and records management. Skills: Data utilization, complex problem solving, critical thinking, resource management, and writing skills.
